    Step 2: Conference one, 1950s, The Cold War. The US and USSR are at odds and the world has lined up on opposite sides, who takes which side and why? We will spend one day in our simulation. You will be evaluated on your thoughtful comments representing your country in a historically faithful manner. Your goal will be to avoid total nuclear annihilation, June 2 Friday, long 4. 15pts
    Step 3: Conference two, 1970s, The Energy Crisis. Some countries have energy resources and others want it. China is starting to emerge. We will spend one day in our simulation. You will be evaluated on your thoughtful comments representing your country in a historically faithful manner, W June 7th with the option to go into Thursday the 8th. 18 pts

    Step 5: Conference four, 2009, Global Economic Crisis. The EU decided to "bail out" their weaker members, some countries were pleased, others resentful. Every economy slows down, NATO adds countries. Other major issues on the table are terrorism and global climate change. You will be given two days for this simulation, you will be submitting proposals before this begins, June 14 and June 15. 30 pts total for verbal participation and proposal
    This will take us up to the cumulative final exam. If you are unable to attend on the conference date, you will be submitting a footnoted and fully Turabian cited 2-3 page analysis of what your country would have had to say regarding a minimum of 5 topics of the day.
